James Elam Rhorer, 75, husband of Martha Jane Rhorer, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 at Pimlico Manor Nursing Home. Born in Fayette County, KY, he was a son of the late Claude and Ella Rhorer. He was retired from Rhorer Builders Inc. and was a member of Durbin Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors other than his wife include three sons, Jimmy Dale (Janice) Rhorer, Richmond, KY, Jack Alan (Sarah Jane) Rhorer, Lexington, and Michael Elam (Jamie) Rhorer, Louisville, KY; a daughter, Wanda Jane (Larry) Cordle, Hendersonville, TN; a sister, Brownie Tracy, Lexington; five grandchildren, James Rhorer, Michael (Melissa) Rhorer, Jennifer Rhorer, Crystal Rhorer and Kelvey Cordle; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Durbin Memorial Baptist Church by Bro. Chuck Luke and Bro. Ray Van Camp. Burial will be in Athens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. Memorials are suggested to Durbin Memorial Baptist Church, 8650 Durbin Lane, Lexington, KY 40509.
