JEWEL L. SUTTLAR Gary, Indiana Age 75, passed away with her family at her side, on Sunday, February 12, 2006, at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. She was born on January 1, 1931, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and has been a Gary resident since 1950. She was married to David Suttlar, who preceded her in death in 1974. A son, David Suttlar, Jr., also preceded her in death. She was a member of First A.M.E. Church where she was active with the Usher Board and Women's Missionary Society. She was a member of the National Society of Phi Delta Kappa and a retired elementary teacher with the Gary Community School Corporation. She is survived by her daughters, Eve Whitelaw, Sharon (Wallace) Borom, of Gary, IN, Carolyn (Daun) Grogan of Erie, PA, Monisha Pinkston of Plano, TX; son, Errol (Lisa) Suttlar of Plainfield, IL; son-in-law, Frank Pinkston of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Chantelle Whitelaw, Charisma Borom, LaWanda (Fritchie) Holmes, Nakia Kearney, Shawndee Kearney, Frank Pinkston II, Perry Pinkston, A'Raybia Grogan, Patel Grogan, and Casey Suttlar; brother-in-law, Herbert Suttlar; sisters-in-law, Carrie Mae Hatchett and Marie Hatchett; aunt Mesalene McLaurin; uncle W.E. Lee; special cousins, Olivia Patton, Evelyn (Sheldon) Cain, Bernard (Toya) McLaurin, Michelle Lafleur, and Juan Lee; special friends, Alice and John Banks, Patricia Lovelace, Odessa and Wash Phelan, and Sgt. Louis and Doris Stewart; and other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, February 17, 2006, at the Guy & Allen Funeral Home, 2959 W. 11th Ave., from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Sorority Rites at 5:30 p.m. and Family Hour from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the First A.M.E.
