Ben was born around 1815,in TN., or S.C.; and he died after 1887 in Itawamba County, Mississippi. I believe he is buried beside his wife Charity Martin Cockrum. His grave is either the stone on one side or the iron marker on the other side. He is found on the 1887 tax schedule, but I can't find him after this. His father was also named Ben. He and Charity had no children listed on any census, however they do have Mary A.M. Horton living with them in 1850, and she is five years old. In 1860 she is 15. In 1870 she is married with three young daughters. In 1880 she is a widow. She is listed as "sister" to the head of the house? I believe the Cockrums took her in. They reared Mary and she married Henry Hopper. He died and Mary and her three daughters moved back with Charity and Ben. I believe Mary is buried on one side of Charity and Ben on the other. I don't know where Henry Hopper is buried. However, it is reasonable to assume that he is buried here, with a field stone marker. RIP Mr. Hopper.

Thank you Mr. Ben!
