Lottie S. Whitehurst SAVANNAH, GA - Lottie Scott Whitehurst, 85, died Tuesday May 5, 2009. Lottie was the daughter of Lester and Nellie Rawls Scott of Robersonville, N.C. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. Lottie was a great mother, wife, and friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, her bridge clubs, and spent many happy days with her husband, Walter, her grandchildren, and her friends at their cottage at Bayview on the Pamlico Sound She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Bowers (killed in World War II); her husband of 57 years, Walter Randall Whitehurst; two sons, John Douglas and Elmer Bruce; and a brother, Dallas Scott, and a sister, Doris Leggett. Lottie is survived by three sons: Walter "Randy" and wife, Loretta, George "Tony" and wife, Pam, and Daniel "Danny" and wife, Delores; and a sister, Eillisteen "Teen" Tetterton. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
