Margaret was one of five children born to Martin and Annie (McHugh) Earley of Boston, Mass. At the time of her birth the family was living at 21 Shannon Street in Brighton, Massachusetts. Margaret's early childhood years were spent in the Brighton/Cambridge area of Boston. In 1923 the Earley family moved to 17 Olney St. in Dorchester, Mass. where Margaret attend the Jerimiah E. Burke high school as did her two younger sisters Nancy (Ann) & Mae (Mary.) At the age of twenty-two Margaret lost her mother to cancer; followed five years later with the death of her brother John in 1939.
On June 21, 1941 she married Vincent McGovern of Dorchester, Massachusetts and from this union four girls were born Ann, Helen, Mary and Katherine. Peggy and Vin remained in Dorchester until 1965 when they moved to Quincy, Mass. Vin and Peggy where happily married for 36 years until his passing in 1977. Mother remained in Quincy until 1992 when she joined her daughters in Arizona where she resided until her passing in 2004 at the age of ninety-two. She is greatly missed by her daughters, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
