Son of Walter K. & Dorothy (Kemmerer) Butz and husband of Marie E. (Young) Butz. He worked in the maintenance department of several retirement homes and assisted living facilities throughout the Lehigh Valley. He also volunteered at Good Shepherd Home in Allentown and was an avid fisherman. He was a graduate of Salisbury High School where he was a starter on the 1968 high school basketball team.
