Alice Elaine Petersen, 89 of Carmel, IN passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Elaine was born April 14, 1918 in Oak Park, IL to the late Courtley and Sophia (Coutoumanos) Hennings.
Elaine was an avid reader, who enjoyed doing word search puzzles and yarn crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Nels M. Petersen.
Elaine is survived by her children, Joanne Jones, Alice Voris and Peter Petersen; grandchildren, Carolanne Bard, Shawn Jones, Erin Jones, Cindy True, Randy Voris, Jennifer Petersen and Paul Petersen; great grandchildren, Andy, Alex and Katelyn Bard, Mallory, Megan, Ashleigh and Marissa True, Rachelle and Tyler Voris, Tucker Chase Petersen. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Poulos, Leona Petersen, Evelyn Frazier, Shirley McLain and Theodora Kutz.
Funeral Services will be held 3PM Sunday March 16, 2008 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83). Private interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be 1PM until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Antioch Fire Dept., Antioch Rescue Squad or the American Red Cross in her memory.
