Deloris "Chicken" Baker

Great Falls —Deloris "Chicken" Elberta Baker, 65, of Great Falls, passed away July 14, 2014 at Benefis resulting from Pneumonia. A Wake will be held Thursday, July 17 at 6:00pm at Northwest Bypass Center. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 18 in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Chicken was born on Valentine's Day in 1949 in Great Falls to Clyde and Dolores Baker. After completing her High School education, she went on to meet and marry Clarence "Sweetis" Poitra. They were blessed with a daughter in 1982. Chicken was a loving mother and homemaker who loved to take care of everyone. Her door was never locked. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going rummaging and cooking. Her family cherishes their memories of spending every holiday at Chicken's house.

Survivors include daughter, Joylynn Poitra; sisters, Rose Sides, Toni Baker, and Shawna Jeremiah; brothers, Billy Baker, Clyde Baker, David Champagne, and John Champagne; as well as two grandchildren, Kash Temple and Amelia Sangrey.

Those who have preceded her in death include her parents, and nephew Billy "Magoo" Henderson.
