Donald Raymond Scalfani passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, July 9, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 76.
September 27, 1937 - July 9, 2014

Born and Raised in New York, NY, Donald came to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 47 years ago.

He served in the United States Navy during peacetime.

Donald had worked as a transport driver with the Pepsi Cola Company in Piscataway for 30 years, retiring in 2003. Previously, he worked as a driver with Eastern Freightways of Carlstadt.

He was a longtime parishioner at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany where he was a member of the Golden Age Club and served as an usher at the 12 Noon Mass for many years.

Preceded in death by his brothers, John Scalfani, Leo Mangoni, and Anthony Ponte, he is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rose Marie (nee Puccio); his beloved children, Paul and his wife Susan of Lake Hiawatha, Leah Elliott and her former husband Thomas J. of Parsippany, and Andrea Dango and her husband Matthew of Bloomfield; his siblings, Bernard Ponte of Florida, Clare Currlin of New York, Ruth Ann Hanley of Arizona, and Nora Albertelli of New York; and four grandchildren, Justin, Raymond, Lauren, and Alyssa.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Morristown Medical Center Gagnon Heart Succes Center for the excellent care Donald received during his illness.
