Mary Kathryn (Harber) Harris, 79 year old lifelong Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Monday, July 14, 2014, at McAlester Regional Hospital. She was born December 21, 1933, in Seminole to parents, James Russell Harber and Cleta Ellen (Kleckner) Harber.

Mary graduated from Seminole High School in 1951 and went on to further her education at Oklahoma State University for three years.

On August 29, 1954, she married Jerald Donald Harris in Seminole, Oklahoma.

The couple were longtime members of the First Presbyterian Church in Seminole.

Mary had worked a number of jobs through the years including the Ada Newspaper, the Seminole Producer, Cablevision and H&R Block. She was the most proud of her job as "Chief Executive Homemaker".

Mary leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 60 years, Jerald Donald Harris of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerald Donald Harris, Jr. and his wife Marta of Round Rock, Texas, Mark Wayne Harris of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim Renee Nguyen and her husband Mason of Pearland, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue McBride and her husband Allen of Enid, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, (widow of son Jeffrey Keith Harris), Theresa Harris of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, (widow of brother, Jim "Sonny" Harber), Mary Harber of Enid, Oklahoma; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, James and Cleta Harber, by one son, Jeffrey Keith Harris, by one daughter, Pamela Kay Harris and by one brother, Jim "Sonny" Harber.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Historic Strother Chapel located in Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, OK. Don Gill will officiate the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
