Edward was born the son of Einar and Anna Holth. He was preceded in death by his only sibling, his loving sister, Mildred L. Metz. He was a charter member of Saint Peter Lutheran Church in Southport. He attended James Monroe School in South Bend from 1930-1936, and graduated from Riley High School in 1941. He also attended Indiana University. He entered the Army in 1943 and served in Alaska as a Sgt. Technician in the Signal Corps working on the AL-CAN highway. He returned to Alaska in 1957 after training in New York City for installation of the distant early warning system. He also flew on numerous search and rescue missions over the Aleutian Islands. He entered the Fraternity of Masonry in 1956, St. Joseph's Lodge #49. He was a 32nd degree Mason and in Scottish Rite. He was Worthy Patron of Chapter #2 Order of Eastern Star and Worthy Patron of the White Shrine. After moving to Southport, he was affiliated with Pythagoras Lodge and was Worthy Patron of Order of Eastern Star in 1975. He proudly received his fifty year service award in Masonry in January 2006. Ted was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone as a Field Representative Consultant for twenty years. After that, he worked as a district supply foreman for General Telephone in Elkhart, Indiana for five years. In 1971, he moved to Southport and his family followed shortly thereafter. He worked for Brown and Root Construction Company at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant as a Senior Receiving Clerk for 1971 through 1978. After that, he worked at the plant for Burns Security Company from 1979-1981. He was also an independent painting contractor from 1981 through 1988. Ted also enjoyed being a movie extra in many local movie productions. He was a member of Coastal Cruisers Car Club and enjoyed driving his red 1965 Buick Riviera. He was one of the founding members of Southport Rescue Squad. Ted was also a member of Brunswick County Theatre Group appearing in the plays Revolution! And H.M.S. Pinnafore. He also worked at Second Hand Rose in Southport and the Ships Store at the Ice House in Wilmington. Edward died at his home with his family close by his side at age 82.
