He is the son of William C. Bennett and Carra (Hill) Bennett.

Brother of John Robert Bennett.

Husband of Eleanor Louise (Storey) Bennett, whom he had been married to for 66 years when he died.

He left behind his wife (who later died in 2015), 2 children, 2 siblings, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He had graduated from PENN Commercial Business School (Washington, PA).

He had retired after over 40 years of service to Starvaggi Industries, Inc. where he had been in accounting and bookkeeping and finally a dispatcher.

He had been a member of Elks Lodge No. 1801.

He liked boating, bowling, and golfing.

He was Methodist.

He had served his country in the US Army, 34 Div., 5th Army Inf., WWII, Purle Heart for injuries at Cassino, Italy and another for injuries at Anzio, Italy (Purple Heart 1OLC); discharged as a Sgt.; member of American Legion Post No.10 and VFW Post No.2716; he received Military Honors for his funeral from the American Legion Post No.10 and the WV Honor Guard.
