Jimmy Eason was brought up in Mineola, the son of Longview natives George Richard Eason, a conductor on the Texas & Pacific Railway, and his wife, the former Willie Elizabeth "Bill" Casey. At Mineola High School, Jimmy, a strong husky guy, stood out as a fine player on the Mineola High School Yellowjackets football team.

After graduating from Mineola High, he attended North Texas State College where he met Jerry Ann Allen of Longview. They were married on November 26, 1955 and were the parents of two children: son Bradley Kim (born in 1957) and daughter Jayne Elizabeth (born in 1964). Jimmy's children gave him several grandchildren upon whom he doted.

An open, friendly fellow, Jimmy enjoyed a wide circle of friends throughout his life and every place he lived and worked.

Although he suffered from heart disease for a long time, Jimmy never lost his lust for life and and never waivered in his love for his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins in both the Eason and Casey lines.

Jimmy was a great guy. He is missed.
