L. Quin Oakley, the "Strongest Man in the World" to his family, went to be with his Lord and Savior on 7/1/14. He was born on 9/9/40 in Dimmitt, TX. Funeral will be held at Schooler Funeral Home at 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 7/5/14. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon following. Visitation will be on Friday, 7/4/14 from 11 am – 12 pm at the funeral home.

He planted a church in Sinclair, WY and was Pastor at Valle De Oro Baptist Church. Quin retired from the Ag Research Center in Bushland in 2006.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wilene Oakley, and his children Cheryl and Johnnie Toler, Wes and Sheila Oakley, Kevin and Mary Oakley, Rick and Lisa Allen and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Vela May and Sarah and a brother Marion.
