Joseph Edward "Ed" Brown was the son of Belfield Brown and Sarah A. "Sallie" Denton. He married Nancy Eveline Davis. He died from cancer. He was my grandfather.

Funeral Notes Today for Joseph E. Brown

Funeral services were to be conducted at the McBride church at 2 p.m. for Joseph Edward Brown, 79, who died Wednesday night at his farm near Competition. Mr. Brown suffered from a lingering illness. He became critically ill two weeks ago.
The funeral rites were to be conducted by the Rev. Wid McClanahan with burial in the McBride Cemetery. Burial will be under direction of the Holman Funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy E. Brown, four sons, J. C. Brown of Lebanon, W. E. Brown of Morgan, Dick Brown and Johnny E. Brown of Competition; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lindsay of Lebanon and Mrs. Clyde Knight of Kansas City; a brother, James C. "Tab" Brown of Competition; a sister, Sally Jones of Birch Tree; 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
