Vivian Leigh Allen, 49, of Ohio, departed this life Thursday, March 6, 2008, following a short illness.
Born March 21, 1958, in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Arthur Maynard Sr. and Willa Gibson Maynard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tena Maynard.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of four years, Sidney Allen Jr.; a daughter, Debra Spence of Ohio; a brother, Arthur Maynard Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Ohio; two sisters, Ellen Maynard and her companion, Phillip Garber Sr., of Ohio and Lottie Garber and her husband, Frank, of Ohio; two nephews, Phillip Garber Jr. of Oceana and Joshua Garber of Ohio; mother- and father-in-law, Dollie and Sidney Allen Sr. of Ohio; brother-in-law, Gary Allen Sr. of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Vivian's life will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Jerry Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Kennedy Cemetery, Craney.
The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. today at the chapel.
