Lance Corporal Thomas W. Fritsch of Cromwell, Connecticut, was killed in action at Ngok Tavak, Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. He was one of the 200 brave men who fought a 10-hour battle on the hill at an abandoned French fort in the face of a North Vietnamese division of 8,000.

Thirty seven years after the Vietnam War, his remains along with 12 others were repatriated and identified. He was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on 7 October 2005.
