Merrill was born 21 September 1946 in Payson, Utah, Utah, he moved shortly with his parents Ralph Lynn "Buss" and Althea Hill Carson and family of 4 siblings to North Hollywood, California where he lived and grew up and died at the same property. He went to school in the San Fernando Valley. His parents and 4 siblings were in the western entertainment field, when he was very young he joined the family as their famous clown "Baggy Pants". Their winter business was school Fund Raising Programs and In the summer he traveled extensively with his parents and family with their western shows across the United States and into Mexico and Canada. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. When he was 19 t0 21 he filled a church mission in the North Central States and lower Canada. When he returned home from his mission he married his Sweetheart Cheryl Bender. in The Los Angeles Temple. They had 6 children, as those children came along they joined the western show performing exclusively in Southern California in the fund raising school shows, with dog acts, horse performing, clogging and singing, all the while led by their father "Baggy Pants" The Clown". Merrill passed away in 2005 at a young age from skin cancer, a heart breaker to all.
