Born June 20, 1938, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Marvin E. "Dick" Buford and Pauline F. Taylor Buford. On July 6, 1963, in Mt. Leonard, he married Helen B. Moore, who survives of the home. He was a Saline County resident most of his life and was employed at Lake City for 34 years before his retirement. He later drove the handicap bus for Rolling Meadows State School in Higginsville. He was an auctioneer and served in the Missouri National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Higginsville and its church choir.
Additional survivors include one son, Charles Buford of Urich; one daughter, Tammy L. Wood of the home; one brother, Dick Buford of Alma; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn E. Bargfrede.
