Marilyn Arlene Cain, 68, of Salem peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 04, 2013. She was born on August 21, 1944 in Roanoke to the late Ralph Oren and Sadie Francis Nester. She was an avid reader and thoroughly loved working in her flower garden. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Cain; and a sister, Cova Lephew. Family left to cherish her memory includes her daughters, brother, sister, grandchildren; great-grandchildren,; loving nieces and nephews, and her loving dog, "Paris." The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son funeral home in Salem.
