Larry S. Ott Retired Sergeant Larry S. Ott passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
Sgt. Ott joined the Department Oct. 5, 1964 as a member of Academy Class 31. He was assigned to the Patrol Bureau until Mar. 6, 1971 when he promoted to the rank of Detective and was assigned to the Homicide Division where he served the rest of his career with the exception of a rotation through Internal Affairs. Sgt. Ott retired from the Department
October 18, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ott, son Gary Ott and wife Olivia, daughters Stacy Byassee and husband Billy, and Cynthia Rogers and husband Jess.
Grandchildren Ryan Rogers, Nicholas Rogers, Kevin Rogers, Mary Ott, Henry Ott, Mia Ott, Landry Ott, Shawn Byassee and Loryn Byassee.
Stepson John Moran and wife Kasey, stepdaughter Maranda Hendon, step-grandchildren Lane Hendon, Brett Hendon, Morgan Hendon, and Sam Moran.
Brother Buddy Ott and sisters Jewell Tibbets and Lavera Kennedy.
Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2014, from 1-2pm.
Funeral Services will begin at 2pm.
