John Slaton was a steward on a Fokker F-10A for Western Air Express. The flight was enroute from Albuquerque-West Mesa Airport (New Mexico) to Los Angeles Municipal Airport when it impacted Shay Mountain, located near San Bernardino, CA. A snowstorm was reported in the area at the time of the accident, and the wreckage was found 12 days later. The pilot and co-pilot were also killed.
