Funeral services for Lloyd Elmer Keyser were held July 19, 1985 at the Clinton Community United Methodist Church in Clinton, Nbr., with the Rev. Frank H. Kirley officiating. Burial was in the Gordon Cemetery.

Lloyd Elmer Keyser was born Feb. 24, 1920 in Draper, S. Dak., and died July 16, 1985 at the Gordon Memorial Hospital. He was the third child of a family of six and lost his father (Elmer Kyser) at the early age of four. He was raised by his mother, Eva (Wenzel) Keyser Jones and step-father Jack Jones, in eastern South Dakota and attended high school in Wessington Springs.
Lloyd worked on farms until early 1942 when he was drafted for service in World War II. He entered Army training at Ft. Leavenworth, Kans., for six weeks before being sent to Honolulu, Hawaii. He belonged to e 145th Artillery Unit serving in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1945 after participating in five invasions including Tinian, Saipan, and Okinawa.
IN December 1948, Lloyd married Marjorie Margrave Keyser and they made their home on a farm southwest of Gordon, Nebr. To this union five children were born: Marilyn Louise, Eugene Earl, Susan Alice, Tammy Lee (who died at birth) and David Kevin.
Although farming remained his chief occupation he was a police officer in Rushville, Nebr., in the 1960's; worked for Boyer's Meat Co., and later for Rushville Oil Co. in the 1970's and '80's. He was a member of the Amnity Masonic Lodge #169 and the American Legion Post #161. He was a sportsman and enjoyed hunting and golfing with family and friends.
Lloyd was devoted husband and loving father, his family and friends will remember him as an honest and gentle man who treated everyone fairly. He was brave and patient throughout his illness and thought constantly of his family and their welfare.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; sons, Gene of Cheyenne, Wyo., and David of Lincoln, Nebr.; daughter, Susand Anderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; step-daughter, Carol Ann of Gordon, Nebr.; grandson, Reuben Lloyd Anderson; brother Vearl Keyser, Gann Valley; sisters, Velma Albrecht and Jean Amador, Seattle, Wash., and Orpha McGowan of Santa Maria, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Glen, and his daughter, Marilyn.
