A J Cannedy, 84, of Wichita Falls passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the Texhoma Christian Care Center in Wichita Falls. Mr. Cannedy was born on Feb. 27, 1924, in Duke, Okla., to the late Benjamin (Ben) Cannedy and Luella Nelson Cannedy Campbell. On June 28, 1968, he married Rena Clark in Wichita Falls. He had worked at Midwestern State University and was a member of Southwest Baptist Church. Mr. Cannedy served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Rena Cannedy of Wichita Falls; one son, Rick Cannedy and wife Shirley of Wichita Falls; one sister, Bennie Mills and husband Tom of Lakeside City, six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Cannedy, Orbie Cannedy, and R C Cannedy; and three sisters, Geraldine Miller, Pearline Roberts, and Josephine Cannedy.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Bro. David Adair. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls.
