Helen L. Wintermute, 75, Minot, died Thursday, June 30, 2005 in a Minot Nursing home.

Helen Lenore Jacobson was born on April 2, 1930, the daughter of James and Hilda (Wall) Jacobson, in Bottineau, ND. She was reared and educated in the Bottineau area, graduating from Bottineau High School in 1949.

On January 20, 1952, Helen was united in marriage to Donald Wintermute, in Minot. Following their marriage the couple lived on a farm in the Saline Township, McHenry County from 1952 until 1958. From 1958 until 1965, they lived in Upham, where they owned and operated a grocery store and bar. In 1965, they moved back to Saline Township, where they continued to farm. Donald passed away on January 9, 1998.

Helen enjoyed crocheting afghans, knitting, gardening, canning fruits and playing BINGO.

She was a member of the Deering Lutheran Church, the ladies bible study group, and Secretary/treasurer of the Township board.

She is survived by: Sons: Darrell (Susan) Wintermute, Bottineau; Kenneth Wintermute, Phoenix, AZ; Steve (Melanie) Wintermute, Minot; Brian (Shelley) Wintermute, Granville, ND; Daughters: Valmai (Dennis) Lundy, Minot, ND; Donna (Mike) Klein, Minot. Nine grandchildren: Andrew (Tamara) Wintermute, Lori Wintermute, Kayla Wintermute, Bradley Wintermute, Denise Lueck, Amy Lundy, Amanda Klein, Chelsy Klein, Travis Klein; Three great-grandchildren: Nathan Lueck, Laura Lueck, Kaleb Wintermute.Numerous cousins also survive.

Helen was preceded in death by, her husband, son, Gerald, her parents.

Visitation: Sunday, July 3, 2005, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and Monday, July 4, 2005 from 9:00 until noon.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial: Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Saline Cemetery, rural Granville

Officiant: Rev. Reggie Denton, First Lutheran Church, Granville
