Marker reads as "Son of Texas Addie Harris & James Abbot Born & Died Spring 1943 Asleep in Jesus"
Little Abbott's mother was Texas Addie CRIBBS Abbott Cormier Harris. She was married to the baby's father James Leaston Abbott from 1936 to 1947. Little Abbott was born in the Spring of 1943 while his father was away in the Army. They divorced and she married in 1950 to Adelard Joseph Cormier and they divorced in 1951 and she promptly married Cleveland Harris the same year.
Since his mother married a 3rd time in 1951, the marker had to have been engraved after her 3rd marriage because she had no way of knowing what her last married name would be at the time of her death, I presume the marker was engraved after she passed and the name on her marker was used on Little Abbott's marker so that his grave would be linked to hers. Also because his father's last name is misspelled on the marker.
His maternal grandparents were Jeptha Jordan Cribbs & Texas Oregon Cribbs Cribbs. They were cousins. Texas Oregon was the d/o Jeptha's brother Jordan Cribbs and Salomey Powell Cribbs.
