Gladys F. Clary, 92, of Quincy, formerly of Kinderhook, died Tuesday (June 15, 2010) at 12:05 a.m. in the Barry Community Care Center. She was born Feb. 11, 1918 in Blue Rapids, Kan., to Walter E. and Cora M. Rushton Francis. She married Robert H. Clary Jan. 6, 1942 in Palmyra, Mo. He died on July 13, 1977. Gladys spent most of her life in the Kinderhook and New Canton area. She was a member of the Vermont Street Methodist Church in Quincy, the Eagles Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. One of her favorite past times was playing bingo with friends. She is survived by three sons, Robert Clary and his wife, Shirley, of Ewing, Mo., Harold Clary of Hull and Lonnie Clary and his wife, Paullette, of Quincy; a daughter, Janet Miller of Barry; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Earnest, Irving, Roy, and Walter "Buss" Francis; two sisters, Lillian Kracht and Winona Mapes; a granddaughter and a great-grandson. SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Burial will be in the Kinderhook Cemetery. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
