Married to Myrtle Markleen Marshall on December 31, 1940, Lyon County, Kentucky. The child Nancye was supposed to be his, but he firmly said she was not. He was right for I had a DNA test done on the Granddaughter of Nancye and it came back showing no Yates DNA at all. She is a distant cousin to me thru the Marshall line but no Yates connection.

Home on furlough from Army at his parents' home in Gary, Lake County, Indiana when killed in a car accident with another Army buddy.
