He is survived by: his wife, Glenda (Potts) Edwards; his two daughters, Jennifer Edwards-Hallock and Jill (Edwards) Alter (Brian); four grandchildren, Elijah, Alana, Aiden and Keegan; mother, Joyce; sisters, LeeAnn Sparks (Rodger) and Cinda Leck (Chuck); and his beloved dogs, Maggie, Millie and Suzie.
He is preceded in death by: two brothers, Ricky and Carey Ray; and his father, Fred. He worked for Haworth Construction from 1972 to present. He was planning on retiring today, June 1. Stephen served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1972. Steve had a great passion for the outdoors. He spent many weekends fishing, camping, hunting and gardening. Steve passed away May 25, 2014, while doing what he loved most -- fishing.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at First Southern Baptist Church, 2401 S. Ohio, Salina. Inurnment: 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Marysville Cemetery, Marysville. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to Geary County Emergency Management and sent in care of Ryan Mortuary.
