Born Sept. 14, 1922, in Pressman, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Tignor and Velva Evans Tignor. He was the husband of Eleanor V. Allnutt Tignor.
He had been a carpenter for many years. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Leslie P. Tignor Jr., of Lexington, N.C., Larry Tignor, of Sykesville, and R. Mark Tignor, of Ellicott City; daughters Ellen Barker, of Sykesville, Judy Gilbert, of Pinellas Park, Florida, and Brenda Schmidt, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; brothers Hubert Tignor, of Baltimore, and William Tignor, of Columbia; a sister, Juanita Wayland, of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
