Jefferey Mike Sperry
1967 ~ 2014
Jefferey Mike Sperry, our devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend returned to his loving Heavenly Father on May 28, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born August 25, 1967 in Nephi, Utah to Mike and Dixie Sperry. He graduated from West Jordan High in 1985. He served in the Florida Tallahassee mission from 1987 to 1989. He married his sweetheart, Susan Frantz, on August 18, 1990 in the Jordan River Temple. Jeff served our country for six years in the Air Force Reserve as a jet engine mechanic. He supported his family by working as an elevator mechanic and was a proud member of the I.U.E.C. Local 38.
Jeff loved his family and spending time with them. They enjoyed camping and four-wheeling, trips to Disneyland and learning to surf in Hawaii with his children. He liked to fish, attend sports events and watch his children participate in their numerous activities.
An active member of the LDS church, he served in numerous callings, including, Scouting, Young Mens and Sunday School. He enjoyed attending the temple.
He loved to fly and earned his private pilots license with an instrument rating.
We know how much he wanted to stay here with us, but was needed more in Heaven. We miss him dearly, but will always be grateful for everything he did for us and the example he showed us everyday. We would like to express sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and many others who cared for Jeff during his illness. The outpouring of love, support and generosity shown to our family during the past fifteen months has been a huge blessing to all of us. Thank you.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, and their three amazing children: Tristen, Tyler and Tanner. He is also survived by his parents, Mike & Dixie Sperry; brother, Wade; grandmother, Lucy Arnold; in-laws, Norman (Bud) and Collene Frantz; also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins that will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Lehi North Stake Center, 600 E. 3200 N. Lehi, UT. Family and friends may visit Friday, May 30th from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 31st from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the same location. Online guest book at wingmotuary.com.
