Grace Adele Miller
(formerly Thiele/Rissler)

We lost a dear mother, sister, grandmother and friend Thursday, July 30, 2009. Adele, as most of us knew her, had suffered for several years with pain from arthritis and several back surgeries, but is now at peace in a better place. Her body had failed but her mind was still sharp. Adele was born in Council Grove, KS, October 21, 1921 and moved to Casper in early childhood. Adele and her first husband Francis Rissler both attended Natrona County High School. They were married in 1940 and divorced in 1970 and lived for 30 years on the Rissler family ranch southeast of Casper where they raised their two children. Adele remarried Orville Miller. They were married for 21 years when he passed on and has been waiting for her since. Age 87 at her passing Adele, was married for 50 years and widowed for 17.

Adele was hospitalized after a fall on Saturday July 25th, and never recovered. She spent her last days surrounded by family and friends. Adele loved to fish and read novels. In her later years she found entertainment in riding the bus to the area casinos and pulling the nickel slots.

Adele is survived by two children, Cherie (Gordon) Schoonover (Casper) and Gary (Cathy) Rissler (New York), two step daughters, Evonne Strohman (Cheyenne) & Paula Juneau (Denver), 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, August 3, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Wyoming Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home.
