Irene Lillian Caroline Zuehlke Eichmann Kurowski, age 89, went home to the Lord, in her home, surrounded by her grandchildren, on Thursday, May 22, 2014. She was born in the Town of Westfield, WI on July 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Albert and Dora (Kruger) Zuehlke. Irene was married to Edwin Eichmann for 51 years and preceded her in death. She then married Hank Kurowski who also preceded her in death. Irene was a candle maker for 25+ years, working for Carolina Soap and Candle and Aurora Candle. Irene was a long standing member of First English Lutheran Church of Oshkosh, and with her unwavering faith in the Lord, Irene was able to persevere through all of life's triumphs and tragedies. Most of all, she will be remembered for the love she had for her family.

Irene is preceded in death by her husbands: Edwin and Hank; children: David Eichmann, Arthur Eichmann, Charles Eichmann and Charlotte Kentopp: sisters: Ruth (Arnie) Starrine and Esther Leviet; and brothers: George Zuehlke, Wilber Zuehlke and Walter Zuehlke. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Sonny Leviet; daughter-in-law, Barbara Eichmann; grandchildren: Patrick (Charlotte) Eichmann, Arthur (Colleen) Eichmann, Lynn (Mark) Bernhard, Theresa (fiance, James) Jolin, Frederick Eichmann, Jeannie (Matthew, Sr.) Denny, Michael Eichmann, and Connie Eichmann; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Seefeld Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Greenwald and Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery, Westfield, WI.
