Her mother put Esther in the care of a babysitter so she could go to the market nearby. The infant died when the babysitter placed Esther on a plastic sheet because she was drooling on the bed linens. The baby turned over and suffocated. When her mother arrived home, the babysitter was in shock still holding the lifeless infant on her lap not knowing what to do. The police were called, but it was judged a tragic accident.
