FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA -- Gerald D. Strecker, 61, died November 4, 2002, after collapsing on a racquetball court, aparently of a massive heart attack and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was born July 14, 1941, in Russell, the son of Clarence and Olinda Strecker.
He attended schools in Russell and was senior class president, graduating in 1959. He was very active in football and baseball and continued his education at Fort Hays State, where he also played football, graduating with a degree in business and physical education. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
California has been his home for the last 38 years. He was a high school administrator and retired from the Garden Grove Unified School District just 16 months ago. Services have been held.
