Kenneth S. Anderson, 50 Fairfield insurance agent and a former member of the Fairfield school board, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the University Hospital in Iowa City.
Services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Salina Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Anderson spent most of his adult life as an insurance underwriter and a farmer. The family home is on Route 1, Salina Road.
He was a graduate of the Fairfield High School and attended Parsons College. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and he also served with Headquarters Co., 224th Engineering Battalion, Iowa National Guard.
He was elected to the Fairfield High School board in 1974 and was re-elected in 1977.
An agent with the New York Life Insurance Co. since 1967, he joined the Royce J. Huff Agency in Fairfield in March 1980.
Anderson was a member of the First Lutheran Church where he was a former council member, he was also a member of the Lockridge Lions Club and the Salina IOOF Lodge.
He was married to Joyce Dickinson Oct. 17, 1952, at the Clara Lutheran Church in Salina. She survives.
Other survivors are a son, Nelson B. Anderson, Lockridge; and a daughter Kristine, a student at the University of Iowa in Iowa City; and a sister, Rosa Crile, Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
