Frank J. Sweetalla, 72, Neenah, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born Nov.17, 1933, in Waupaca County, son of Frank and Viola (Boushley) Sweetalla. Frank married Shirley Knaack, Nov. 23, 1951, in Oshkosh. He was employed at George Banta Publishing Company for 41 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed camping and fishing on Pine Lake, feeding the birds/squirrels and doing crossword puzzles. He was a former member and volunteer with BRAVO associated with Banta's. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.


Frank is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Cindy Lou (Terry) Peterson, Sheboygan; Christy Lee Will, Menasha; Tony Dale Sweetalla, Neenah; Connie Lynn Sweetalla, Neenah and fiance, Dean Lukasavage; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Peterson, Jackie (Craig) Jahnke, Jolene Sweetalla, Justin Kautzer, Jichole Will, Tyler Lukasavage and Cheyenne Lukasavage; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Joshua Peterson, Kyle Jahnke, Emily and Allie Schultz and Ethan Haus; a sister, Virginia Hoerning, Red Granite; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vivian (Paul) Kostuch, Vernon (Nancy) Knaack, Walter (Eileen) Knaack, Jr., Russell (Gerry) Knaack and Dale (Barb) Knaack, all of Neenah; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Mr. Sweetalla was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Hoerning.


Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at the Kessler Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Military rites will be conducted by the William Verhagen American Legion Post #60, Kimberly following the service.


In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
