He was born in Angel Valley, Tennessee on May 31, 1915, the son of the late Jimmy and Susie (Angel) Braden. He was a farmer and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. His parents, wife June (Creekmore) Braden, son Denzil Braden, brothers Joseph Braden, Lawrence Braden, and Conrad Braden, and sisters Mamie Thomas and Hazel Caddell precede him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Jackie Braden and wife Carol of Pine Knot, Kentucky, James Braden and wife Lori of Kansas, and Joseph Braden and wife Wanda of Pine Knot, Kentucky, brother, Lethal Braden of Winfield, Tennessee and sister, Geneva Gilreath of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
