Joseph married first 16 Sep 1883 at Manchester, Philomena Paradis. They were divorced in 1894.

He married second 22 Jan 1896 at Manchester, Nora P. (Dennison) Chandler; third, Delia A. Phippen.

Joseph Benjamin Baril, Republican, a member of the Committee on Elections, was born in Danville, P. Q., September 18, 1856, and his parents moved to Manchester in October, 1867. He attended public schools until the age of sixteen and afterwards worked for the Amoskeag and Manchester corporations. When almost twenty years of age he took a course at the Bryant & Stratton Business College. In company with a few other musicians, he organized the "Bande Canadienne," which is today known as the Manchester City band. In 1880 he entered the employ of J. S. Heath & Co., druggists. He was a member of the firm of W. H. Heath & Co., which purchased the drug business of Hubbard & Lull, Hanover street in 1883. In 1885 he passed his examination before the board of pharmacy, since which time he has engaged in business at the opera house drug store, Hanover street, 1104 Elm street and 1331 Elm street. He is a member of Manchester Lodge of Elks, Queen City lodge, K. of P., and the Amoskeag Veterans.
