Kathy Allen was kidnapped from her home in Ottumwa, Iowa, and later murdered. Her body was found near Kirksville, Missouri, roughly 60 miles away. She attended Word of Life Fellowship Church. Kathy was interred at Drakesville Cemetery on April 15, 1987, with graveside services conducted by the Rev. Jerry Lanferman. She was the daughter of Donald and Janet Allen.
Her Social Security Number was issued in Iowa in 1975 or 1976.
The two culprits were sentenced to death. One of them was executed on 20 Aug 1997. In January 2014, DNA evidence connected that person to the 1984 murders of Justin Hook, Jr., 20; Hook's fiancée Tina Lade, 19; and Hook's mother Sara Link, 41, in Davis and Wapello Counties, Iowa. The second offender died in prison while awaiting execution; he wasn't connected to the 1984 deaths.
