Succumbing to injuries suffered Saturday night when he was accidentally shot, Homer Chandler, 32, son of H.C. Chandler, West Fourth Street, died early Monday morning in Detroit, according to word received here today.
Details of the accident were lacking, but relatives believe he was shot while serving in his capacity as deputy sheriff of Wayne county, Michigan. Following the accident he was removed to a Detroit hospital where he died shortly after.
Mr. Chandler was born in Columbus, but moved to Mansfield at an early age, where he lived until 15 years ago when he moved to Detroit.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Suzanne; his father of this city; three brothers, William, James and Charles, all of this city; and four sisters, Mrs. Harold Metcalfe of Mansfield, Mrs. Beryl Meyers of Galion, Miss Esther Chandler and Mrs. Earl Knopp both of Ashland.
