ALICE JOHNSON
Bertha Alice Johnson, 84 of Macon, passed away Monday night, Oct. 9, 2000 at her home.
Alice was born Apr. 18, 1916 in Elmer, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Henderson) Williams. On Nov. 7, 1936 in Macon, she was united in marriage to Odell Johnson, who preceded her in death on Apr. 10, 1993.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Willis, Howard, and Wendell Williams; one son-in-law, Kenneth Teter; and one great-grandson, Logan Sullivan.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou Teter of Macon, Janet Farmer and her husband, Norris of Moberly, and Ruth Sullivan and her husband, Duane of Macon; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Elbert Williams of Stratford, Texas; one sister, Joy Burnam of Bloomfield, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Alice had lived all her life in Macon County. She moved from Atlanta to Macon in 1993 to make her home. She was a member of the Atlanta Community Club and a member of the Crossroads Christian Church in Macon.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000 at the Crossroads Christian Church in Macon. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Macon, under direction of the Elliot Funeral Home in Atlanta.
