Dorothy Agnes Gill, 80, of Spanaway, Washington was born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Dorothy was born to Frank Henry (Franz) Abicht & Josephine Emma Mosser of Wisconsin.

Grandma had a brother she was close to, Edmund William and she talked with one sister all the time, Marguerite Emma, Aka Sister Rita Jeanne. We visited with Sister Rita Jeanne many times. I just loved her to pieces. Her other siblings were Viola, Irene Louise and Leona "Leonsie" Josephine.

Dorothy left Wisconsin at an early age to spread her wings and explore, see new things and to put her mark in the world. She headed out West and settled down in Washington State. Dorothy moved to Spanaway in 1947. She married Raymond O. Gill, known to many as "Sarge", at the Justice of the Peace in King Co, Washington on November 15, 1946. They had 3 Wired Hair Terrier dogs that ruled the roost! Dorothy loved to do canning and made the best homemade bread ever! She loved working in the yard and gardening, doing needlework and hook latch rugs in her spare time. She was a chocoholic! Lol! Chocolate covered peanuts and raisins were her weakness, we would buy them by the bulk bag size, to make sure she had enough till the next grocery run!

Dorothy spent many of hours listening to Televangelists, and she was a member of the "700 Club". She had a friend of many years, Helen & Leo Crippen and they would spend hours of sharing and talking about Jesus. That is when Grandma discovered, Religion and Church Denominations are manmade and "FAITH" comes from God and the person serving the Lord from their own heart is what truly matters and counts! After that her faith grew stronger, she had the most calm and peaceful life she had ever experienced and enjoyed every moment God gave her.Years later we also studied with the Crippen's, they were truly the greatest friends a person could have.

Dorothy had a lot of health issues, she was legally blind, breast cancer and more but she never gave up! Dorothy fell ill and went to Fort Lewis Hospital and never returned home. She had lung cancer and a fast acting cancer that rushed to the brain. She passed away with her daughter Joyce on one side of her, and her grand daughter Karen Renee' holding the other hand, talking about Jesus together.

I will never forget the day Grandma died! I walked in her hospital room and she greeted me and said, "What a pretty lavender coat, is it new? Grandma was legally blind and could not see anything but shadows. God allowed her to see, before she died ~ we witnessed a miracle! She also left her legacy to our child, Kevin Craig. She refused to give in to death until she said goodbye to Kevin Craig. I went home and got him and we visited and shortly after I took Kevin Craig home, she died. All her wishes were then fulfilled.

Dorothy was in love with Jesus and now cradles in his arms, waiting for her family to join her. Dorothy never remarried after Sarge died in 1970. Sarge was the love of her life. Now they are together again, side by side.

Grandma was first married to Carl Adolf "Harold" Johnson 1897-1970. To this marriage was born Joyce Mae Johnson.

They were divorced and things were very hard for Grandma, raising a child alone. She had many hard choices to make for her and her child and did the best she could and knew how.

Dorothy Agnes had her hands in anything that involved nature, she was one with God and nature. Momma gave me a shoebox of photo's that I recently opened and was amazed at what I discovered! I take after my Grandma, more than I ever knew. I discovered pictures of Grandma & Pa raising goats! She had several. They raised Saanen's. Saanen goats are a white or cream-colored breed of goat, named for the Saanen valley in Switzerland.

This reminded me that she also has Alpaca's and Llama's on the property, that belonged to a local vet in need of grazing grass. One spit on my hubby on the way to work, we were late for work on that day! After Grandma passed we took over and lived in her house, and inherited the critter's, and cared for them and their daily needs.

Grandma loved to work in her flowerbeds and plant colorful plants and shrubs, in her younger years, till her sight failed her. She had a huge garden and even years after she was gone, up in the middle of the grass, here sprouts a mass of Rhubarb! It felt like Grandma was saying, "Plant your garden right here!" I did and it was the best garden I have ever accomplished! I came out ne morning to send hubby off to work and was in shock, disbelief, anger, fear! There is a large herd of deer, plus twin Fawns eating and yanking up my humongous yellow squash plants, up by the roots! I know Grandma was having a Heavenly giggle on that one!

Grandma is missed by many and loved so much! She was full of love and life and never met a stranger. She taught me so much and made learning fun! I miss her so much and can't wait to see her when the Rapture comes and rejoins all the Christians together, on that day. I can smell that homemade bread of hers already!
