Josephine Hall "Jo" Esterly, 91, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at her home.
Born July 11, 1909, in Chicago, she lived in Rancho Bernardo for nine years. She did clerical work for General Dynamics/Convair and was a member of Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church. She was named Woman of the Year in 1981 for the San Diego Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.
Josephine married twice. First to Armando Carlos Tejada. They divorced and she later married Rick Esterly.
Mrs. Esterly is survived by her husband of 23 years, Rick Esterly of Rancho Bernardo; son James Tejada of Santa Barbara; daughters Raquel Welch of Beverly Hills and Gayle Tejada Pate of La Jolla; and grandchildren Damon Welch, Tahnee Welch, Ryander Tejada and Adi Tejada.
A family memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 22.
