He is survived by his siblings, Francis (Marilyn) Kriegel of Victor, Joanne (Gary) Phillips of Marshalltown, Jane (Mike) Glasford of Crooks, SD, Raphael (Diane) Kriegel of Montezuma, Theresa (Tom) Goeke of Pueblo West, CO, Elizabeth (Charles) Cretin of Eldora, Vincent Kriegel of Crooks, SD, Margaret Carlton (Darrell Beason) of Brooklyn, IA, David (Chelle) Kriegel of Laurel, Dorothy (Nathan) Allen of Winterset, Ted (Tammy) Kriegel of Brooklyn, and Agnes (James) Crabtree of Brooklyn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William John and Catherine Roberta Pfiffner Kriegel, two nephews, Lloyd and Walter Kriegel, and a great-niece Ashley Phillips.
Thomas Joseph Kriegel was born April 21, 1951 in Grinnell, Iowa, the fifth of thirteen children born to William and Catherine Pfiffner Kriegel. He attended the Scott #1 country school for kindergarten and went on to graduate from BGM High School with the Class of 1970. Tom worked for Farmhand Ag Equipment in Grinnell from 1972 – 1987, and for Amana Refrigeration for several years, retiring from there. He spent his spare time farming with his brothers, Francis and Ray. Tom was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. He also was an active member of 4-H and FFA.
Tom's favorite pastimes were walking the dogs, Kringle and Komet, hiking at Diamond Lake, and going downtown to eat at the Classic Deli. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the Chicago Cubs.
