Ruth Aileen Ball, of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Greenfield, Missouri, was born in Milan, Kansas a town founded and named by her grandfather, Francis Shore.

Ruth was the second of four children born to Arthur and Edna (Shore) McCall. Ruth married Chester D. Ball in December of 1939 and to this union, two daughters, Marcia Janiece and Mary Eileen, were born.

Ruth was a homemaker and active in civic affairs in her hometown of Greenfield. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church, Greenfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chet; her parents; two brothers, Don and Robert McCall; her sister, Dorothy Montgomery; her daughter, Janiece; her granddaughter, Shari (Stapp) Crabb; and her infant grand- son, Jeffery Stapp.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Hall; three granddaughters, Pippa Johnson, Tonya Wade, and Tracy Ward; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ruth was small in stature, but mighty in spirit and her passing leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends. Services were held Thursday, December 29, 2005, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gene Clack officiating.
