Lily May, daughter of the late Oliver (Jack) and Nellie Morgan Fairchild was born March 14, 1918, in Mexico Mo. and died June 12, 1987, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, after a two year bout with cancer.
After graduating from Lebanon High School, she worked at H.D. Lee, then served as secretary to the Lebanon Missouri Police Department. On August 19, 1957, she was married to Lloyd Tremain in Miami, Ok. making their home in Lebanon. In 1968 they went overseas where Loyd was employed as a civilian worker until 1974 when they returned to the United States and spent five years in San Antonia, Texas. In 1979 they moved to a farm in Iowa.
Lily enjoyed traveling in England, Italy, France, Spain and Belgium. She worked with her hands making many heirloom quilts and sewing articles.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; a son Robert Alexander and wife Barbara, Pewaukee, Wis.; a daughter Jeanne Reiter, Des Monies, Iowa; a granddaughter, Katherine Ann Awtry and a grandson, Alex Reiter; two sisters Goldie Sloan of Lebanon and Della Hammer, Kansas City.
