Ryan Mark Akey Fremont Age 23, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 1997 as a result of a snowmobile accident. He was born on May 8, 1973 in Waupaca, the son of Dawn (Koepp) Akey and Mark Akey. He was married on December 21, 1991 in Christ Lutheran Church, West Bloomfield to Kimberly Ann Zeichert. Ryan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fremont.

He was a 1991 graduate of Weyauwega-Fremont High School, where he participated in football, wrestling and FFA. He was employed by Appleton Acoustical System Inc. as a carpenter. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Invaders Snowmobile Club and the Weyauwega Lake Conservation Club. Ryan was always willing to help anyone in need.

Survivors include his wife, Kim; two daughters, Carlie and Lauren, and a son, Bryce, all at home. Ryan was a special son of Mark and Sandra Akey, Weyauwega, and Dawn Akey, Green Bay. He is further survived by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Koepp, Fremont, and his maternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Miller, Weyauwega. He was a special brother of Christopher (Dorinda) Akey and their children Kaitlyn and Kelsey, all of Alamosa, Eric Akey, Fremont, and Amanda Akey, at home. He is also survived by two stepbrothers, Bill Ledger and his fiancee Linda Smith and their children Josh and Jesse, and Jeff Ledger, all of Stevens Point; two step-sisters, Laura Peterson, Elgin, and Linda Pawlowski and her son Cory, Menasha; his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Lorraine Zeichert, Fremont; his grandmoth-er-in-law, Elizabeth Smith, Fremont; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Julie) Bellile and their children Stephanie, Brittany and Nicholas, all of New London, and Chuck Zeichert, Fremont; two sisters-in-law.

Barb (Bill) Buchholz and their son Tyler, Neenah, and Patti (Mike) Beilfuss and their children Christi and Mitchell, Fremont; special friends Betty and Darnell Burow, Tara Burow and Glenn Pomrening, Mark and Barb Stuebs, Richard and Jean Smith and their children Eric and David, and Ben Sasse. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Koepp; his paternal grandparents, Ray and LaVerne Akey; a sister-in-law, Jean Bellile; a. nephew, Eric Buchholz, and his great-grandparents, Frank Smith, Hulda Kempf and Art Miller. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 1997 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Mark Drenglef will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont, in the spring. Friends may call at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and then at the church until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Ryan and Kim's children. Ryan was a great husband and a wonderful father. He was dearly loved and he will be missed by all.
