GENE JOHNSON

Gene Johnson, 81, of Sheffield Village and formerly of Avon Lake, born June, 26, 1932 in Columbus, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain.

He graduated from Ohio State University School of Pharmacy. Gene worked at Schering Plough Pharmaceutical Company, where he was a Professional Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. for 42 years.

He was a 60 year member of Masonic Lodge #0786, member of Westlake United Methodist Church and a Stephen Minister. His interests were the Civil War, bird watching, grandchildren, family and travel.

Gene is survived by his wife, Arlene (nee Nicol) of Sheffield Village; children, Greg Johnson, M.D. (Tess Gordon, M.D.) of Perrysburg, Ohio, Laura Heric (Blaine, M.D.) of Clearwater, Florida and Heidi Johnson-Wright (Steve) of Miami, Florida; seven grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Sengel of Texas and Myrna Disbennett of Lancaster, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Nellie Johnson.

Funeral service will be at Westlake United Methodist Church, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11 A.M. Private interment will be at Cochran Cemetery in Washington Courthouse, Ohio.
