A native of Linden, TN, he was the son of the late Henry Atlas and Annie Pearl Edwards Qualls. Mr. Qualls attended GA Tech and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Mr. Qualls retired from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission after 35 years of service and was a member of the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ and a longtime member of the Rockville, MD congregation.
Survivors include his wife Ann Alexander Qualls of Fayetteville, formerly of Brentwood, TN, daughter Michelle Angenette Qualls Shell and husband Michael of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren Alexander, Anna and Ian Shell, brother Dr. Jerry Qualls and wife Lorraine of Morris Chapel, TN, and sister Joy Klutts of Linden, TN. He was a faithful husband, loving father, proud grandfather, child of God and a Christ follower.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tennessee Children's Home, PO Box 10, Spring Hill, TN 37174 or the Washington Street Church of Christ Flower Fund, care of Peggy Mitchell.
